LUPITA NYONG'O'S DAD CONDITION STABLE

Kisumu Governor is out of trouble, that is according to his doctors. The dear Professor who is serving his first term as Governor suffered health complications during the weekend while attending a function presided over by DP Ruto and other leaders.
His aides rushed him to the Aga Khan Hospital before being airlifted to Nairobi for further treatment. It is not clear what is ailing the ODM governor who is also the first senator of Kisumu County and this is largely due to the strict privacy laws that are a feature of private hospitals that serve the well-to-do in society.

Battled With Prostrate Cancer

It should be noted that Nyong'o is the father to Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o who is making a mark in the glitz and glamour industry of Hollywood. He also underwent surgery to treat prostrate cancer in 2011and was declared fit afterwards.

This is what he said about his battles with the disease in an interview with the Daily Nation, a publication of the Nation Media Group on February 3 2011:
"I was diagnosed in July 2010. My first reaction was shock of course, but then I had been following the rise of my (Prostate-specific Antigen) PSA for some time.

I was also rather angry because I thought I should have done the biopsy much earlier to reduce the risk of the cancer going to its secondary stage.

My doctor immediately put me on hormone therapy to stop the spread while awaiting further treatment.

Fortunately, further examinations in the US showed that the cancer was still confined to the prostate capsule so I could go through intensity modulated radiation therapy (a type of external beam radiation therapy) successfully and be cured."

Prof. Nyong'o served as the Minister for Medical Services in the Grand Coalition Government of 2008-2013.
